DESCRIPTION:We cordially invite you to an artist talk with Andrei Liankevic
 h on the exhibition ‘Traditional Belarusian Interiors / Paganism’ on 2
  August at 5 pm at the nEUROPA gallery.\n\nThe exhibition presents Liankev
 ich's current photography project\, in which he documents the disappearing
  interiors of traditional houses in Belarus. His project archive now compr
 ises more than 100 interiors\, and he plans to expand his digital online a
 rchive traditional-interior.org\, where users will be able to upload their
  own photos of additional interiors and houses to complement Liankevich's 
 images. The photos in the archive will form the basis for future research 
 on the traditional way of life of the Belarusians. In addition to the inte
 riors\, Liankevich also shows the inhabitants\, mostly in their (tradition
 al) everyday clothes.\n\nThe photographs are complemented by Liankevich's 
 long-term documentary project on the rituals\, festivals and myths of Bela
 rusian paganism\, which reveals the spiritual connection between people an
 d their environment. His haunting portraits and depictions of traditional 
 living spaces invite the audience to discover a fascinating and endangered
  part of Belarusian identity: pagan customs that are still alive today in 
 the country's villages.\n\nThe exhibition takes an anthropological and art
 istic look at Belarus – between past and present.\n\nPhotographs: Andrei
