 Caucasus on the border with Russia. It enjoys great popularity among climb
 ers from very different countries. Technically not too difficult\, an asce
 nt nevertheless demands a lot from everyone: fitness and high-altitude tou
 ring skills\, sufficient acclimatization and the renunciation of the usual
  tourist infrastructure of European conditions. Marcus Oertel climbed the 
 Kazbek in September 2022 and will tell\, among other things\, how he met t
 he Soviet singer Vladimir Vysozki and the current Polish ambassador on the
