SUMMARY:Storytelling Café: Migration and daily life in the GDR
DESCRIPTION:The GDR officially presented itself as anti-racist\, yet daily
life was usually quite different. The storytelling café focuses on person
al perspectives on a history that is often little known: migration in a st
ate that saw itself as internationalist\, but at the same time set clear p
olitical and social boundaries.\n\nWe are looking forward to sharing our t
houghts with you and with the contemporary witnesses Hung Cao The and Luiz
Mazuze. The storytelling café will be hosted by Dr Verena Böll. Togethe
r with Hung Cao The\, she leads our project “Đức-Việt. German–Vie
tnamese Life in Saxony”.\n\nAn event organised in cooperation with the B
 autzner Straße Dresden Memorial.
