Initiated by the artists Elena Pagel and Nazanin Zandi as a result of several years of project work with Dresden artists and authors with and without a migration background living in Dresden, a collection of professional illustrated stories in comic\/graphic novel style was created.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

About the project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of the project LebensBILD. bioGrafische Begegnungen<\/a> autobiographical, honest and humorous narratives were created. These give insight into moments in the lives of women with different origins, religions and languages – initiated by the artists Elena Pagel<\/strong> and Nazanin Zandi<\/strong> as a result of several years of project work with female authors with and without a migration background living in Dresden and female artists from Dresden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book STIMMEN. 47 Stories of Dresden Women from All Over the World in Words and Pictures<\/a><\/strong> is a statement for an open and tolerant society. At the same time, it provides a broad insight into the current scene of professional female graphic artists in Dresden. The diverse illustrations – by more than 20 Dresden illustrators<\/a> such as Anja Maria Eisen, Kendike, Ines Hofmann, Annette von Bodecker, Yini Tao, Alma Weber, Luisa Stenzel and many more – emphasize with great intercultural competence the special features of the stories, which are printed in the book in the original language and in German translation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With the publication of STIMMEN<\/strong> <\/a>we would like to contribute to the cultural and political education of Dresden’s urban society. It can be used as working material in integration and cultural education work to enable visibility of and understanding for different population groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art creates trust. Art educates. Art connects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to thank the women who shared their stories, the artists who translated them into a visual language, the initiators and supporters who accompanied the project and our sponsors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
