The informal networks M\u0259clisi-\u00dcns and SALOON will be linked through a residency with symposium in Dresden in September 2022 and a study-visit in Baku in December 2022. Workshops with students, field trips, online encounters, and mail art will take place concurrently.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide is-layout-flow topics such as hospitality and how to define home. Artists study how culture and traditions shape our idea of hospitality. They question how welcoming are we and how much welcomed are we in the new places.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left tw-mt-10 tw-mb-7 wp-block-heading\" id=\"programm\">Events in Dresden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Assembly of Friendship is an international exchange of SALOON Dresden with M\u0259clisi-\u00dcns, the first and currently only art collective in the country of Azerbaijan. Invited by Kultur Aktiv e.V. and in cooperation with Ta(R)dino 6, artists and curators meet in an extensive residency program with the aim of exploring commonalities and initiating projects beyond the boundaries of their respective networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At objekt klein a we want to discuss and share experiences on topics such as the visibility of women in art and the influence of artistic creation on civil society. The material of biosourced nail polish describes a cycle of works from 2015 on until today, that can also be understood as a commentary on a still male-dominated (art) world. Since 2018 she investigates the human smell producing scent installations. Her current sculptures feature materials such as shredded EURO banknotes from the Deutsche Bundesbank. Since 2022 she produces her own biosourced nail polish, that she also uses on her paintings and are available at her current &#8216;BABYLONIAN GAZE&#8217; tour through Europe. Mackenroth turns icons, changes their form and function, and processes them into components of a new and if possible better and more sustainable world.<br><br>Mackenroth&#8217;s works can be seen in museums, galleries and collections, including the Museum f\u00fcr Brot und Kunst in Ulm in summer of 2022, the NAILS projectroom in D\u00fcsseldorf or the collection of the Deutscher Bundestag.<br><br>In 2020 together with Bianca Kennedy she co-published &#8220;I Love Women in Art&#8221; about 100 artworks by women artists in Germany, on the 100th anniversary of women at German art academies. Since 2021, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, Mackenroth has been working on a feasibility test of her innovation for sustainable art materials. In his early photographic works, he documents the pre-transition events from the midst of social upheaval, not infrequently exposing himself to the risk of state violence. After the fall of the Wall, he completed his art studies in the capital of Saxony and initially turned his back on it. The ambivalent relationship to the city of his birth finally prompted him to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the appearance of the resentment movement Pegida in 2014, he turns to the most direct of all art forms. With actions in public space, he comments on the social upheavals and traces of the new right, humorously and at the same time uncompromisingly. Or did they just ignore it, because it was considered dirty, complicated or not appropriate? Not even a little stroke of labias is visible. They love to cuddle on the street. Whether they perform on stage, sew textile sculptures, hold a camera, or choreograph for public spaces, their approach is always bodily and felt. Through protest methodologies, poetry and pop culture, Sunny depicts how body language can construct statements. Facilitating workshops and collaborating is an integral part of Sunny\u2019s processes. Work ethics and friendship underlie Sunny\u2019s practice.
