With its mix of Art Nouveau architecture, mountains on its doorstep and lively cultural scene, Liberec is an ideal destination for anyone looking to combine city and nature experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Vereinsreise Liberec 2025 \u2013 Ein Wochenende voller Kultur, Gemeinschaft und Entdeckungen\" width=\"1290\" height=\"968\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HGw7AFQZeGE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Day 1 \u2013 2 October 2025: Arrival and first impressions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants travelled individually, allowing them to plan their own flexible itineraries. The historic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotelprahaliberec.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Hotel Praha<\/strong><\/a> in the city centre, just a few steps away from the impressive town hall, served as their \u2018base camp\u2019 \u2013 ideal for exploring Liberec on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the first evening, the group stopped off at the cult pub <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tatazpakaz.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Tataz Pakaz<\/strong><\/a>, where regional cuisine, Czech beer and a creative scene come together. Afterwards, we made our way to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.botanickaliberec.cz\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.botanickaliberec.cz\/\"><strong>Liberec Botanical Garden<\/strong><\/a>, which, with its pavilions, tropical houses, marine aquariums and around 9,000 plant species, is one of the most exciting gardens in Czechia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lunch was at the cosy <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrotulipan.cz\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bistrotulipan.cz\/\"><strong>Tulipan bistro<\/strong><\/a>, which impressed with its modern cuisine and relaxed atmosphere. The afternoon featured a special highlight: a visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fua.tul.cz\/en\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.fua.tul.cz\/en\/\"><strong>Technical University of Liberec \u2013 Faculty of Art and Architecture<\/strong><\/a>, where Blanka Kirchner (artist &amp; lecturer) provided insights into teaching, studios and the local creative scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On her recommendation, we spent the evening at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/barpapir.cz\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/barpapir.cz\/\">pap\u00edr<\/a><\/strong> bar. We danced the night away at the \u2018In the Yuma by Places\u2019 party series, which featured electronic music ranging from Afro House to Dark Tech House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Day 3 \u2013 4 October 2025: Art &amp; cake, folklore &amp; football<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday began in a relaxed manner at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.galali.cz\/de\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.galali.cz\/de\/\">Liberec Regional Gallery (Galerie L\u00e1zn\u011b)<\/a><\/strong>, which is housed in the historic municipal baths. The Liberec Museum of Fine Arts \u2013 as the gallery is also known \u2013 is the fifth largest art collection in Czechia and houses more than 2,000 paintings, over 16,000 prints and drawings, and around 3,000 sculptures and objects \u2013 a real hotspot for European art. After so much art, it was good to recharge our batteries at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nordbeans_lazne\/?hl=de\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nordbeans_lazne\/?hl=de\">Art Caf\u00e9 L\u00e1zn\u011b<\/a><\/strong>, located directly in the gallery. An ideal place to let the impressions sink in over coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, the group attended the \u2018major cultural event\u2019 of the<a href=\"https:\/\/landesversammlung.cz\/de\/aktuelles\/neuigkeiten\/kulturelle-grossveranstaltung-2025-in-reichenberg\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/landesversammlung.cz\/de\/aktuelles\/neuigkeiten\/kulturelle-grossveranstaltung-2025-in-reichenberg\/\"> <strong>State Assembly of German Associations in the Czech Republic<\/strong><\/a>, which took place in Liberec in 2025 and combined German-Czech history, folklore and contemporary culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things got sporty in the evening with the FC Slovan Liberec vs. Bohemians Prague 1905 match, which the \u2018ultras\u2019 of the tour group watched live at the stadium. Even though the game ended in a draw, the atmosphere in the stands was great and showed once again how much football is part of the city&#8217;s everyday culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day ended at the unpretentious <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wanderlog.com\/place\/details\/10705821\/stereo-cafe\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wanderlog.com\/place\/details\/10705821\/stereo-cafe\">Stereo Caf\u00e9<\/a><\/strong>, a meeting place for locals and visitors alike, which is appreciated for its relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-3 opportunity to hike up <strong>Je\u0161t\u011bd<\/strong>, Liberec&#8217;s 1,012-metre-high local mountain. At its summit stands the futuristic Je\u0161t\u011bd television tower, an iconic 1960s structure that combines a hotel, restaurant and broadcasting station and is considered a landmark of the entire region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From here, there are sweeping views over Liberec, the Jizera Mountains and as far as Poland \u2013 a perfect place to reflect on the weekend. With many inspiring impressions, new contacts and a strengthened sense of community, the group set off on their return journey to Dresden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery A diverse programme offered something for everyone \u2013 whether art lovers, nature enthusiasts or those who enjoy socialising. The individual freedoms allowed for a very personalised experience, which was particularly appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every detail, from the collaboration with dedicated cultural partners to the spontaneous adventures of pub crawls and morning jogs, gave this weekend a lively and exciting atmosphere.
