Corsica – a tour of the island in spring 2024
The north is rugged, and sometimes the gusty winds make it almost impossible to take photos. There are bizarre rock formations and cliffs. The coastal road is sometimes more than 200 metres above sea level. The south is gentler. There are long beaches and you can swim in April. But it is still too early for the highest snow-capped mountains, such as the 2,706-metre-high Monte Cinto. The via ferrata (all privately operated) are unfortunately still closed.
There are only two larger cities, Ajaccio and Bastia, otherwise there are small towns, villages, mountains, long valleys and the sea. If you want peace and quiet, hiking or relaxation, this is the place for you.
Corsica feels more Italian than French and is more rugged than Sardinia. THE Corsican is omnipresent, Napoleon is present here and there and a symbol of independence.
