Calls

Our projects rely on the people who create them. That is why we are regularly looking for participants, e.g. for artist/youth exchanges, live performances, seminars and workshops. At the same time, there are annual offers for Bundesfreiwilligendienst or European Solidarity Corps in our association.

Bundesfreiwilligendienst (BFD)

At Kultur Aktiv you have the opportunity to do a 12-month Bundesfreiwilligendienst in the cultural sector. The service begins in August or September of each year. You can expect a relaxed working atmosphere in a nice team. You will be able to use your own knowledge and gain new experience while organising projects and making local and international contacts in the sector. Furthermore, we are happy to support you in testing your own creative potential and contributing your own ideas.

Fields of application
Cultural and project management, working with the photo gallery “Galerie nEUROPA”, office organisation, public relations (English and other foreign languages are also required here) or in the area of graphic layout and web design. We also offer further training in the areas of socio-culture, project management, administration and social media.

Application procedure
We always announce vacancies and application procedures in good time under current calls. We regret that we cannot consider unsolicited applications outside the application deadlines.

European Voluntary Service (EVS)

Since 2007, one to three volunteers have been involved in a European Voluntary Service at Kultur Aktiv every year. As a host organisation, we have so far worked with sending organisations and selected project partners who are active in the fields of cultural and youth work in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Balkans. Our international volunteers also support us in local and international projects, especially those from their home countries. They are also encouraged to develop and implement their own project ideas.

In principle, ESC is open to young people between the ages of 18 and 30. A twelve-month assignment as a European volunteer usually begins in October. The areas of assignment and training opportunities are the same as for volunteers from the Bundesfreiwilligendienst programme. Further information can be found in our current calls or on the website of the European Commission.

Cooperations

Alone in the wilderness or achieving more together? Especially in the field of socio-culture, networks offer great potential for bringing together the experience of different individual actors and creating synergies.

That is why we also cooperate with other initiatives and associations. Due to the different target groups we want to reach with our projects, we have constantly expanded the network of our project partners. In the past years, we have developed connections to actors on a local, regional and also international level. We look back with satisfaction on the sometimes long-standing cooperation with our partners. But we are also always interested in new connections.

Initiate projects

Starting your own project is not a task to be underestimated. That is why we offer all committed project initiators advice and support on issues such as project financing and planning, founding and running an association or cooperation opportunities.

We support you in the different project phases (definition, planning, implementation, completion). To make it easier for you and us to work on your project, it is important that you observe the following points:

  • Project outline: You have an exciting project idea? That’s a good start. You also have a project outline? Even better. A well-written description simplifies communication within the team, presentation to potential project partners and, above all, the application for funding. The basis for this is a project outline in which you describe the initial situation/problem, goal(s), (potential) cooperation partners, concrete measures and evaluation possibilities.
  • Budget plan: an important addition to your project description is the cost and financing plan. Basically, it is a comparison of project expenses (fees, materials, travel costs, rent, catering, etc.) and income (own funds, grants, donations, etc.).
  • Administrative costs: please note that for each project we support, 10% of the total expenditure is included as administrative costs. This contribution serves to cover our running costs. In return, you can of course draw on the association’s resources (technology, contacts, experience in project management and accounting and much more). With some funding bodies, this can be taken into account in the application.

Once you have gathered all the documents, we will be happy to discuss your project idea with you and help you implement it. Send your request to info@kulturaktiv.org

Internships and job shadowing

Within the framework of projects, Kultur Aktiv occasionally offers the opportunity to become active for a limited time. During an internship, knowledge acquired during studies can be tested in practice. By sitting in on an internship at the association, cultural managers from other organisations can gain new experiences and impulses and incorporate them into their practical work. This is the second time that Kultur Aktiv has hosted a Greek fellow from the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s START – Create Cultural Change programme. At the same time, Kultur Aktiv staff members themselves also take advantage of the opportunity and intern at partner organisations abroad.

Application procedure
Available places for internships are announced under current calls. Unfortunately, initial applications cannot be considered in most cases. To save unnecessary effort, please clarify in advance by phone.
