Annette v. Bodecker was born in Bützow in 1965. She studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Picus Verlag Wien has published 13 children’s books, which she illustrated mainly together with the Lebanese-German author Andrea Karimé. She is the mother of two grown-up sons and lives and works in Dresden.
