Advenster – Calendar door no. 2

Open Gallery :: In our gallery Galerie nEUROPA we not only present exhibitions of contemporary photographers with a connection to Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, but the space is also open for open meetings, coffee rounds, games evenings, workshops, seminars, think tanks, and so on.

Advenster has been taking place in Dresden’s Neustadt district for 20 years now. From 1 to 24 December, small cultural events organised by local residents and supported by the Neustadt Art Kollektiv are held at various locations. Participation is very easy, although places are limited and quickly snapped up, as is the case every year. All events are non-commercial and free of charge. ✨

The Open Gallery opens door no. 2 in the Advent calendar 🌟

Yuliya Firsova cordially invites you to our storytelling sessions in the Open Gallery. Storytellers big and small meet here in a magical and inspiring atmosphere to share their favourite fairy tales, myths and stories from around the world. 🌍📖

🎭 Start with the winter fairy tale: ‘The Mitten’ – an enchanting puppet theatre for the little ones!

A folk tale that is told in Ukraine and Russia, for example: An old man goes for a walk in the snowy winter forest. His glove falls out of his pocket, which he doesn’t notice at first. A mouse makes a warm home for itself in the lost mitten. But soon more and more animals move in until the owner of the mitten goes in search of his lost treasure… 🐭❄️

The performance is perfectly tailored to the needs of children:

✓ Storytelling pace: Slow and sensitive so that all little listeners can follow.
✓ Simple language: Short sentences and a reduced plot ensure that even the youngest children (under 3 years) are not overwhelmed.
✓ Short performance time: Only approx. 10-15 minutes – ideal for small attention spans!
