My name is Enna and I started my Federal Voluntary Service with Kultur Aktiv e.V. a year ago.
I can still remember the evening before my first day at work as if it were yesterday. I was very excited and curious to see what lay ahead. I sometimes think back on it because, at the time, I never would have expected the varied, exciting and educational year that it turned out to be!
The organisation – especially Jana, Christin and Jacqueline – gave me a wonderful welcome. The three of them were always patient and understanding. I felt very much at home at Kultur Aktiv and would highly recommend that anyone wishing to do a Federal Voluntary Service in the arts and culture sector apply to this organisation!
During my voluntary year, I looked after the nEUROPA gallery and its associated events, and in doing so I learnt a great deal about project and event organisation.
The highlights of my year were our exhibition openings, which I was able to help organise, the winter trips, where I was able to support Christian, and the ‘Wirkungssprint’, in which our organisation took part as part of our crowdfunding campaign. All these activities were very varied; I had a lot of fun and learnt a great deal too!
I’d like to thank Kultur Aktiv for giving me the opportunity to complete my Federal Voluntary Service here! I couldn’t have asked for a better placement than this one.
I’d also like to thank Jana, Christin and Jacqueline for their time, our conversations and this past year. I’ve felt part of the team and very welcome, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again!
