We are ANSPRECHBAR – for a better understanding! We get people talking – regardless of language, culture, age, budget or social status – at creative workshops, exhibitions and in an interview magazine with empathetic portraits. Join us and let’s build bridges together!
ANSPRECHBAR at the International Mother Tongue Day
At the table of our workshop leader Yulia Vishnichenko there will be ‘letter salad’ and proverb painting for children and young people.
The International Mother Language Day celebrates the world’s linguistic diversity. Half of the world’s population speaks at least two languages. In Germany, around 21 per cent of all children and young people under the age of 14 speak a language other than German at home. Dealing with multilingualism in an appreciative way, without judgement of the individual languages, is an important message to our children: ‘Every language is valuable’!
We cordially invite you to experience the linguistic wealth of the city together and make it visible.
Programme for children and young people
Children and young people will organise part of the event themselves. In joint activities, they playfully perform their own multilingualism and thus arouse curiosity about the languages of other children. They can also present their family language(s) on stage: with a picture, song, poem, a favourite word, proverb or thought as a creative answer to the question: What do you particularly like about your family language?
All children and young people are welcome to take part and help shape the programme!
Programme for adults
However, the programme is not only aimed at children. For adults, there will be a keynote speech and discussion on the topic of ‘Multilingual education in kindergarten and school – tips and the role of family language(s)’ and an interesting exhibition on the ‘Dresden speaks many languages’ project by Kultur Aktiv e. V.
Registration is requested. One registration is sufficient for families. If your child would like to actively present, please indicate this in the registration form! You will receive further information by e-mail once the children have registered.
We are looking forward to a nice party together!
‘Muttersprache ist die Sprache des Herzens’ is an event organised by the Children’s and Parents’ Centre ‘Kolibri’ e.V. to mark International Mother Language Day in cooperation with Indian Association Dresden e.V. and the Integration and Foreigners’ Representative of the City of Dresden.
The project is funded by the State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion. This measure is co-financed with tax funds on the basis of the budget passed by the Saxon state parliament within the framework of the state programme Integrative Maßnahmen.
