Kyrgyzstan – The first yoga trip in the land of nomads (2013)
A couple from Dresden who really want to sleep in a yurt – my Hungarian friend who loves horse riding – and an unknown Swiss woman join me on this adventure.
The nomad is a traveller who follows the times of nature and carries his ‘house’ with him. Modern city dwellers are also increasingly exposed to mobile thinking and behaviour – and are often on the move in search of (their) arrival: resting in the midst of all the vicissitudes of life, enjoying the richness of a moment, knowing what is truly essential… Yogis have often used the mountains to retreat and be ‘a little closer to heaven’.
The challenge for us city dwellers: we will only practise yoga in nature. And thus encounter the five elements – which connect you with your original nature…
14 days in Kyrgyzstan: Burana a small town on the Silk Road – Issyk-Kul with 180 km the largest high mountain lake in the world (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – ancient stone drawings (petroglyphs) & the Ethnographic Museum – Karakol – hot mineral springs in a remote mountain valley of the Terskej-Alatoo, one of the most beautiful in Tienshan – Dshety Oguz a fairy tale made of stone – Song Köl a high mountain lake at 3. 016 metres above sea level with an overnight stay in a yurt, riding games & a horse ride through the steppe.
