Our events as part of the Intercultural Days
The Intercultural Days offer space for encounters, exchange and opportunities to gain new perspectives, learn from each other, break down one’s own prejudices and thus enrich social interaction in the long term.
The Commissioner for Integration and Foreigners, Kristina Winkler, and the Ausländerrat Dresden e.V. invite all interested Dresdeners, networks, initiatives and associations to take part with their own events and put together a colourful programme. The main topics this year are:
- Telling migration stories
- Human and fundamental rights in danger
- Business needs diversity
- Promoting common ground in sport
- Living interreligious exchange
You can find the full programme for the 34th Intercultural Days in the events calendar at dresden.de. If you would like to have a smart German/English print copy of the programme, you are welcome to pick one up from our office or from any information point or district office in Dresden.
Why are there Intercultural Days in Dresden?
Dresden is a diverse and cosmopolitan city. With the Intercultural Days, we want to emphasise this diversity and promote mutual understanding between all residents, regardless of their appearance, origin or religion. With the help of numerous events, the aim is to create opportunities for encounters and joint organisation, to create cooperation at eye level and to strengthen the reduction of prejudices. The Intercultural Days offer numerous actors from Dresden the opportunity to present themselves and their offers and thus preserve the openness and diversity of Dresden.
