Dear cultural activists,
Sometimes it takes a clown to highlight the seriousness of the situation. Atlas—with his Styrofoam office, open ears, and surprising questions—is touring northern Bohemia and Saxony on the occasion of the closure of the ČSA open-cast lignite mine and is stopping by to visit us.
Together with tYhle, a dedicated collective of Czech and French artists, we invite you to a pop-up exhibition at Neustädter Markt on August 5, 2025, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Atlas brings stories, emotions, and voices from a region shaped by lignite mining. He talks to pigeons, trees—and to you. His Gravity Strike workshops playfully explore what weighs us down – and how we can free ourselves from it.
Then come by our gallery nEUROPA from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and share your stories in a discussion with the ATLAS team about just transformations and new possibilities for coexistence in an overloaded world.
