Dear cultural activists,
Over the past few months, our ostZONE project has expanded the exhibition ‘Revolutionary Romances? Global Art Histories in the GDR’ at the Albertinum (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden/SKD) with an exciting accompanying programme. The exhibition focussed on the ideals of socialist internationalism, solidarity, artistic protest against war and violence as well as post-colonial issues. In addition to works from the SKD collections, contemporary positions were also shown that critically examine the ideals of solidarity of the past.
Last Workshop in June 2024
Before the exhibition ends, the last ostZONE workshop ‘Your message – your poster – print it yourself with screen printing’ will take place on Saturday, 1 June 2024 at the Albertinum. Come along from 1 pm and secure your place. The artist Moussa Mbarek will show us the screen printing process. We will then print motifs from the exhibition and add our own messages and interpretations. The results can be presented in the epilogue room of the exhibition.
Thank you!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our project manager Dr Verena Böll, all the active participants and volunteers, contemporary witnesses and artists and, of course, the staff at the Albertinum. We can look back on a successful and fruitful collaboration that certainly provided the numerous participants with some good hours of exchange and creativity.
