Hello, my name is Zhan. Since around 2012 I have been working as a freelance cultural manager in my city Chernivtsi in Ukraine and founded the initiative DZESTRA.
In 2016, I received a travel grant for a one-month trip through Germany and visited cultural and art centres of various kinds in seven cities. After this and several other trips in Germany and other countries in Western and Central Europe, I realised that I wanted to make a difference between the West and the New East, to link resources of our two worlds and to use our diverse experiences.
Today, in 2017, I am happy to be a team member of Kultur Aktiv – an organisation that has been building a cultural bridge between Dresden and Eastern Europe for many years.
