On November 23, 2014 TV Odessa broadcast the documentary film on the 2009 project “Train of Freedom” (“Zug der Freiheit”).
The “Train of Freedom” was a project organised by Kultur Aktiv in the year of the 20th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution in 1989. The project was a retrospection and a revival of the train ride of the Eastern German refugees that had fled to the West-German embassy in Prague in 1989 and then had to pass through the GDR by train after they were granted entry to the Federal Republic of Germany. It concentrated on bringing back memories from this historical time and the importance it had for all countries in Eastern Europe as well as stressing today’s troubles of many of these countries.
Now in the year of the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution the independent Ukrainian TV Channel Odessa showed the short documentary on the project.
