Still an insider tip or already mass tourism? By now, almost everyone knows someone who has followed the “insider tip” of Albania. We also set off to take advantage of what may be the last opportunity to visit Albania before the threshold to mass tourism and overtourism. In many places, the shells of hotel castles are already growing upwards. Year after year, more and more sunbeds are appearing on previously unspoilt beaches and motorhome-friendly tunnels and asphalt roads will soon lead up into the mountains. We were told that Albania should have been visited seven years ago. Is that really true? A parental leave travel report for anyone who might be considering a similar trip.
