The ÖIZ and Kultur Aktiv e.V. invite you to a special online event: This time the focus is on Macedonia. The capital Skopje is Dresden’s twin city, after Dresdeners provided reconstruction aid after an earthquake in 1963. Today’s Skopje was the home of Mother Theresa. Macedonia can look back on a chequered history. A member of NATO since 2020, the country is still waiting to join the EU. People from Macedonia also live in Dresden.

We are pleased to welcome Pastor Goce Kostov as our guest. He lives in Strumica, where he looks after a Catholic parish and is involved in Catholic media work in Macedonia. We want to talk with him about current political, religious and social developments in Macedonia. There will be space to share our own experiences and experiences with this region. What view do the people in Macedonia have of their country, their everyday life, of Europe? How does history shape life in Macedonia? And what can a peaceful future for Macedonia look like?
