Nazanin Zandi

Nazanin Zandi, born in 1973 in Kerman, Iran, grew up in Florence, Italy, studied architecture in Paris and in Dresden and has lived here since 1996. She has been a freelance painter, illustrator, curator, art course instructor and graphic designer since 1999. She curated major exhibitions and exhibited her work internationally. Since childhood she wanted to be an artist, so in 2011 she opened a studio through detours. Since 2013, she has initiated and directed numerous socio-political-cultural projects with refugees, migrants and Germans. She wants to promote social conversation through her art. Since 2016, she has been giving weekly creative classes throughout the city to break down prejudices and support democratic thinking. Her current area of work is biographical comics. She speaks seven languages.
