Treffpunkt ostZONE. Remember and shape
Susan Donath, born in Apolda in 1979, has lived in Dresden since 2000.
She studied sculpture at the Dresden University of Fine Arts (2000-2005) and was a master student there from 2005-2007. Since 2007 she works as a freelance artist in Dresden and Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic.
She exhibited in numerous exhibitions, participated in international projects and received the Dresden Art Award in April 2021.
“My main artistic interest is the examination of sepulchral culture (culture of the dead and dying), which flows into my work in different ways: a Snow White in a closed coffin, burnt Stasi files in an urn or real dead people in a grave complex at the Střekov cemetery in Ústí nad Labem, which I have maintained permanently since 2008.”
