Dance Performance »Mariposa Meets Metelyk«

Theatre to get a taste of! Being a woman means dancing, it means stomping, it means breaking out of the cocoon. This powerful performance accompanies women who unfold like a butterfly (ukr.: Metelyk, span.: Mariposa).

With them: some participants from the METELYK workshops, the ellemonh theatre group and talented flamenco dancers.

The event is part of the Neustadt Art Festivals. This non-commercial art and culture festival is taking place for the 12th time this year. From 22 to 22 September 2023 there will be exhibitions, concerts, readings, performances and much more – all on one weekend in Dresden’s Neustadt – self-organised by representatives of all kinds of art genres and together in a variety of places.

The project METELYK is funded as a small project by Weltoffenes Sachsen support programme under the title “METELYK – Interkulturelles Theaterstück (UA/DE) zu Frau-Sein und Sexismus”. This measure is co-financed with tax funds on the basis of the budget passed by the Saxon state parliament.
