Bookmarks inspired by Otomí Amate paper craft from Mexico
Liliana Santos warmly invites you to design your own bookmarks! Inspired by the colourful motifs of the Otomí community from San Pablito Pahuatlán in the Sierra Norte of Puebla, Mexico, we will discover a special Mexican craft tradition together.
We’ll start with a brief introduction to the history, origins and cultural background of traditional Amate paper art. Afterwards, we’ll get creative and design unique, colourful bookmarks featuring our own motifs.

Come along, learn about this traditional Mexican craft and take your hand-designed bookmarks home with you!
Please note: The traditional designs are used as inspiration. We do not use original Amate paper; instead, we create our bookmarks on standard, sturdy paper or on pieces of wood cut to size.
