Finissage – Svanetia between tradition and modernity

At the end of the exhibition “Svanetia between Tradition and Modernity”, the photographer Stefan Applis will give a lecture on the effects of mass tourism on the region of Svanetia and other areas of Georgia. He will also report on his encounters with the Svanetians.

During the lecture, the books “Svanetia between Tradition and Modernity” (published in 2022, winner of the ITB Book Award 2023) and “Discover Svanetia – A cultural and nature travel guide for Georgia” (published in 2021) can be purchased.
