Focus on Solidarity – Discussions and creative workshops bring solidarity to everyday life and build new connections between people from very different life situations.
Photo embroidery: „The Thread That Binds“
What does solidarity mean to you, and how can it be made visible? In this creative workshop, we invite you to explore your own experiences and express them through art.
We work together with photographs, fabrics and threads. Drawing on personal images or archive material, we create embroidered visual stories that tell of moments of solidarity and support, but also of exclusion. In this way, memories become tangible and new perspectives emerge.
Working in small groups creates space for sharing life stories, experiences and the things that bring us together. Artistic and educational guidance will help you bring your ideas to life and find your own form of expression, regardless of your previous experience.
The workshop provides a safe space for people to come together, engage in creative work and reflect together on how solidarity can be put into practice in everyday life.
Come along, bring your story with you, and become part of a collective picture made up of many different perspectives.
The project is funded by Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden and the State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion. This initiative is co-funded by taxpayers’ money on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament as part of the state programme Integrative Maßnahmen.
