Nadine Wölk, born 1979 in Thuringia, lives and works in Dresden since 2001.
She studied graphic design in Munich and painting and graphics at HfBK Dresden and as a master student of Prof. Martin Honert. She works as a freelance graphic designer, artist and freelance lecturer.
She documents the present with her art, in which the fleetingness of moments and experiences is thematized. She plays with the different perceptual levels of painterly representation and extends traditional techniques with modern means of expression.
She has received numerous grants and her paintings are in various art funds, galleries and collections in Saxony.
“I question the evidential value of the objective depiction of our reality, the pictorial space opens towards a level outside the image, which represents a maximum emotionally experienced interiority.”
