Fuji, ramen and Shinkansen – the expected and real surprises in the land of the rising sun
Japan is a country of contrasts. On the one hand, a whole range of aspects such as manga mania, traditional cuisine, high-tech, over-punctuality and the strange reserve of the people seem to be well known. On the other hand, you never know exactly what strange things will happen next. In their presentation, four Dresdeners from BSG Bergsucht will talk about their summer trip to Japan.
How does it feel to stand on the summit of the sacred Mt Fuji? How can you help yourself when “Lost in Translation” becomes a reality? How and where can you experience the true nature of the islanders? What do the Japanese mean by burlesque? And why is travelling in Japan suddenly so cheap?
