It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the cancellation of the demoSlam event in Nebelschütz. Due to the current situation around the coronavirus we see ourselves after assessment of the risks in the duty to act preventively and in solidarity. You can find more information HERE.

An entertaining evening of discussion on current social controversial topics – with audience discussion and reception afterwards.

Moderation: Cornelius Pollmer, Journalist & Author, Süddeutsche Zeitung

How can we get into a conversation about difficult topics? demoSlam offers an approach as a new format for communication. Six young people between the ages of 18 and 30 from all over Saxony come together to engage with each other and the audience, appreciatively and with humor. After the premiere at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden, the second performance takes place in Upper Lusatia.demoSlam was developed by cultural scientist Evgeniya Sayko at the Hertie Innovationskolleg in the style of formats such as science or poetry slams, originally geared to the German-Russian context. Before the demoSlam, the slammers deal with commonalities and differences in their views in a three-day workshop. In pairs with controversial opinions, they present their very personal stories and experiences as a result of this workshop.

As part of Sachsen im Dialog, citizen journalists from all over Saxony also dealt with the transformation processes of the past 30 years. Their first works will be on display at demoSlam in the form of an exhibition.

As part of the project Sachsen im Dialog. This is funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the federal program MITEINANDER REDEN and within the framework of the funding program Revolution and Democracy of the Saxon State Chancellery.
