At Treffpunkt ostZONE we ask and remember together. In the exchange – between generations and cultures about past and present – every life journey is taken seriously.
PODIUM DISCUSSION: Clichés and Prejudices
with Douha AlFayyad (author), Luis Mazuze (former contract worker from Mozambique) and Dr Josef Schneider (Chairman – Euro-Bridge e.V.)
Moderation: Henriette Stapf
Live visualization, documentation: BENUZ
„Russians like to drink vodka“, „Mozambicans only want to dance“, „Germans are always punctual“, these clichés often determined encounters during the GDR era and even today. Such and other clichés can lead to prejudice, racism and exclusion.
Ask and remember: How was and is the contact between immigrants and locals? Were there everyday encounters? What effects did and do clichés have? What would you finally like to tell about this time?
You are cordially invited to a round of talks at eye level, in which everyone can have their say! Our contemporary witnesses will provide further impulses.
The event takes place in cooperation with ZU HAUSE IN PROHLIS e.V., Musaik – Grenzenlos musizieren e.V., Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. and JugendKunstschule Dresden.
The project Treffpunkt ostZONE. Remember and Shape is funded by the House of Resources Dresden +. This measure is co-financed with tax funds on the basis of the budget passed by the Saxon state parliament within the framework of the state program Integrative Measures.
